Calling of creatures of the night to FoxyPaws.com to peruse parade & buy the top ten costumes for pets in 2008. Americans are expected to spend 10% more on Halloween this year than in 2007.
According to the National Retail Federation, Halloween spending is expected to reach $5.1 billion this year or $64.82 for the average household. This trend is 11% higher then last year’s figure. It is estimated by the American Pet Product Manufacturing Product Inc that 44.8 Million Americans own a Dog.
A growing trend for pet costumes helps to account for the increase in spending. Pet costumes average about $20 but can run as high as $50 or more. For the past ten years Foxy Paws has been getting people & their dogs even closer to this holiday “I think people’s love for their pets are simple to understand,” said Michelle Lamont Director of Operations. “People always want to show your pictures of their dog and these costumes will makes you smile,” said Lamont.
