<img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2178/1886193509_5891261591_t.jpg" alt="Our tired Kia"">

They returned home after a night out and found him hanging. Their much loved Bull Dog cross dog was dead. Chained to his kennel he had become bored and jumped on to the roof of his kennel to bettersee over the neighbouring fence. The neighbours were not home either and Did notsee the dog strangle himself as he jumped from his kennel roof to their lawn on the other side of the fence. His feet never touched the ground as the chain was not long enough. There was no one to save him. He died a horrible and unneccessary death.

Another dog, a Labrador spent it’s last living moments being dragged along a road behind her owner’s flat bed truck. He was oblivious to the fact she had fallen off the back whilst attached to her chain. A trailing motorist wittnessed this horrific accident and alerted the driver. Sadly it was too late for the dog who died at the scene from a combination of strangling and injuries sustained from bouncing over gravel at 100 kilometers an hour. Chaining a dog on the back of a truck or utility Vehicleis foolhardy, both perilous for the dog and other traffic should the dog slip and fall off the edge.

My friend tied her dog to a bike stand outside a shop while she went in to purchase a newspaper. It was only to be for a few short minutes. Tragically it was long enough for the dog to break free and run across the busy road where it was hit by a passing vehicle and killed. Not only was the dog gone forever but my friend was left distraught and racked with guilt for a long time to come.

A young child was badly mauled by a dog who had spent his lonely and pathetic life chained to his kennel. The child tripped and became tangled up in the dog’s chain unable to escape the bored and neglected dog’s reaction to the perceived invasion of the only space it could call it’s own. The child eventually recovered from her injuries. The dog was destroyed for it’s deemed aggression but more aptly because of the incompetence and misery inflicted by it’s ignorant owners.Unfortunately these scenarios are not uncommon. Consequently I believe the chaining of dogs should be made illegal.

One can argue there are times a dog needs to be chained for it’s own well-being or the safety of others. I disagree. There are alternatives for keeping a dog safe and secure without the chains that bind them. A kennel with attached run is the far safer option should there be no fence around a property and on occasion when there is. Even with a fenced propety there are times a dog needs

You will find the Labradoodle is intelligent, intuitive, and very full of energy. They do very well as companions, but doesn’t make a service dog. In other words while they can be great hunting dogs they don’t make for good therapy dogs or seeing- eye dogs. They tend to have both a poodle and Labrador mentality making them very excitable. You will also find they can make a great family pet as long as they have been trained. They can be excessively energetic and sometimes don’t make the ideal pets for smaller children. Training as a puppy is very important to help them learn proper techniques and reign in the energy just a little. If you do train them properly they can be around children.

Training should be for both a lab and poodle since they’re mixed. You should be able to combine sport activity along with obedience. Labradors tend to be very energetic and without proper training they’ll continue to be disobedient because they would ratherplay. The poodle in them can make them aTiny anti social. You will find they’re very easy to train for indoors, but consistent training and a firm hand is needed. You should always take your Labradoodle for walks daily to offer them plenty ofchance to play and have fun. You will also find a medium yard is needed. They don’t do well in condos or apartments. If you work during the day you should have them tied to a runner in the yard to let them explore and play. They require at least two hours of interaction such as walking, running, and playing with toys for the ideal health and happiness.

As long as you train your Labradoodle and offer plenty of affection and activities you’ll find them to be a great addition to your family. You shouldbegin of with a puppy, especially if you’re planning on having kids to help them adapt to the social requirements they’ll need to have. If you purchase an adult Labradoodle you may find it harder to train certain behaviors out of them, especially if they’ve had no formal training. Labradoodles are one of the most interesting breeds because they’ve been mixed. They are recognized as a breed by the dog association (not the AKC).

Care of the Labradoodle is fairly easy. They require regular brushing as the hair can become quite tangled. They have the poodle style coat, which means longer hair, rather than the Labrador coat which is usually short. In order to keep shedding down you’ll need to brush them. You should be able to clip them just once a year. You will also find this dog breed to be hypo- allergenic. In other words they tend to suffer from several allergies so they can have health problems due to respiratory issues.

The Labradoodle is a hunting dog that is a cross between a poodle and a Labrador. You will find there are seven colors you can have with a Labradoodle. They can be chalk, cream, apricot, chocolate, cafÈ, or black and silver. You will also find they can be a mix of these colors. They are one of the most interesting breeds despite being ablended breed. You will find they usually weigh between 25 and 90 pounds. They stand about 13- 22 inches from the ground making them a short dog.

Editors note: The Labradoodle isn’t an officially recognized dog breed by the AKC.
