Should dogs be allowed on the beach?

There iscompletely know reason why a well trained, healthy dog should not have thechance to enjoy a nice romp on the beach with their owners. It is a great place for dog to be with other dogs and dog owners and lovers to be with other dog lovers. I think that the dogs should be on a leash unless there’s an area where dogs can run free. Any dog not on a leash should definitely be trained to immediately respond to there owners commands. My dog is a lotsuperior behaved than most of the children that are at the beach and my Akita has a lot more courtesy and common sense than a lot of the people that are there. She minds betterthan my kids and I think that I have three pretty good kids.

Jogging on the beach in the soft sand is great exercise both for your dog and you. You can walk or jog and you can frolick in the surf. There is something about the smell and the air of the beach along the ocean. It is fun but both my dog and I feel the same way about salt water. We both want a shower or bath when we get home from the salt water beach. We both prefer the beach around some of the fresh water lakes and it is sort of hard to find an ocean beach close to Denver. Just a few weeks ago we went up to Lake Dillon and walked all around the lake. She loves walking around the lake and it is fun for her to play in the water. Walking on the beach you’ll see all sizes of dogs and all kinds of dogs. You meet chihuahuas and you meet massive Malamutes so dogs have chances to interact with other dogs. There is an area at another lake here in Denver that lets dogs go off leash and boy do they have fun. My Akita has a friend that is a schnauzer and they’ve so much fun together.

No matter where you take your dog, you need to be prepared to huge up after your dog. That is only common courtesy. take your plastic gloves and a shopping bag and pick up after your dog and maybe a few pieces from other dogs of inconsiderate dog owners. If you’re at a sandy beach, pick it up and put it in a proper receptacle. I actually saw a guy at a beach in Florida pick up his dogs mess, put it in a bag and then dig a hole in the sand and bury it. I think he’d a few bricks short of a full load.

Another great reason for dogs to b granted on beaches is to watch kids when their parents get preoccupied, maybe a few too many margaritas or other drink. I have a very good friend who would have lost hisTiny gitrl ifit hadn’t been for a black lab that saw that hisTiny girl was caught in an undertow and having troubles. That black ab dragged her to safety and saved her life. The lab wasn’t even theirs but just knew that she as in trouble. He now has to labs. You read all the time about heroic thing that dogs do on the beach. It is too bad that the good dogs don’t get the recognition,. I have two friends who have pit bulls and they are the greatest dogs you could ever want.

Franky if there is a beach that doesn’t allow my dog on their beach, they dont heed me either. My Akita is much betterbehaved than 90% of the children and 75% of the adults. Dogs and beaches just go together as far a I am concerned.
