It was in 2003 that my daughter brought a Portuguese Water Dog to my house. She was working for a family that owned one, and the dog came to my house for a few hours. He was a brown Porti, and I had never heard of the breed before. This dog’s name was Cocoa. He followed me all over the house, watching my every move. He would jump and play, even on furniture, and we'd a great time together. His owners have now trained him not to go on furniture.

Cocoa spent four days at my place a few months later.  We housesat the dog to help the other family. They were going to Tahoe, and dogs weren't permitted at the place where they were going to be staying. Those four days were a lot of fun, and I bonded with this dog very well.
