Dogs need a happy and healthy life just like we do. They need exercise, relaxtion, food, water, sleep and play time.
Here is a guide to help you in every part of your dog’s life.
1. Exercise
Dogs need exercise otherwise they will grow fat and unhealthy, just like we can if we do not get enough exercise. A healthy thing to do is take your dog for walks each day but sometimes this can cause a problem. A great number of people work jobs from 9 till 5 leaving not really anytime to take your dog for a long, lengthy walk. My recommendationis if you’re going to get a dog at least research what type of exercise they need. That means if you’ve aBigbackyard, like a farm or something you can get almost every single type of dog. But if you had a relatively small backyard, like the backyards that only have enough room for a clothes line then you should get a dog that likes to sleep a lot and probably not aMassivedog like a sheepdog. Now, just because you have a backyard that suits your dog, does not mean you are off the leash for your exercise. Even if you do not have enough time during the week to take your dog for a walk then you should take them for at least 2 walks per weekend. Anybody who can’t or doesn’t want to do that, shouldn’t be a dog owner.
2. Relaxation
Believe it or not, dogs can get tired. Yes, even the yappy ones. Now, don’t get relaxation confused with sleep. And when you think that you may be thinking, “Oh my God. How the hell do I get my dog to relax?” Well, hold it right there cause I have the answer for you. I have a dog and whether you believe it or not, she loves watching television. So what you do, just fold a thick rug over a couple of times so it makes a sort of pillow, plonk it on the ground near the telly or on a chair in front of the telly, and put ‘em on it. If they stay, then you can relax. If they don’t, still relax. They’ll come round to it in their own time.
3. Food & water
Lots of people think that just filling up a bowl with dry food every day and another bowl with water is all you have to do to keep your dogs inside’s healthy (not including injections and stuff) but it’s not. People need a varied diet and you know what, so do dogs. So perhaps for two days give them dry food and then on the 3rd day give them food from a doggy tin. With the dry food, try to buy a brand that is puts a lot of different ingredients in (it will always state it on the front of the bag)and preferably buy one with Littlebits in it that help dog teeth. That way, your dog’s teeth can stay healthy as well as their insides. And do not continuously buy the same type of doggy tin food. It’s boring. Snacks aren’t that bad for dogs either just do not feed them to ‘em to much coz guess what, as well as people, it makes ‘em fat.
CAUTION – Chocolate can seriously harm your dog’s insides and milk gives them diarrhea.
4. Sleep
Sleep is an essential part of every living thing’s cycle, even trees so make sure you’re doggy gets the nicest sleep they can with a good quality bed. By the way, lots of dog bed bottoms are quite thin thus making the bed quite uncomfortable itself. To stop this just put a folded rug, not coarse, on the bottom. This will solve all you are problems.
5. Play time
Kids and dogs alike love play time and you can quench your dog’s hunger by playing with them daily for about 20 minutes. This short time can be fun for you and your dog if you do it the right way. Also, dogs like new toys every now and then so if you see a cheap dog toy on your way home from work, it’s probably a good idea to purchase it.
These simple yet effective things will lead your dog to have a healthy and happy life and don’t forget any of them. They are all important.
